A \u00e1rea plantada de algod\u00e3o dever\u00e1 alcan\u00e7ar entre 995 mil e 1,1 milh\u00e3o de hectares no Brasil na safra 2017\/18, conforme as mais recentes estimativas para Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento (Conab). Na melhor das hip\u00f3teses, o aumento em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao ciclo 2016\/17 ser\u00e1 de 15,8%. Mesmo com uma queda da produtividade, em raz\u00e3o do clima menos favor\u00e1vel – prevista em 0,4% pela estatal, para 1.622 quilos por hectare – a produ\u00e7\u00e3o da pluma tende a chegar a entre 1,6 e 1,8 milh\u00e3o de toneladas, com incremento de at\u00e9 15,3%. Nesse contexto, a Conab projeta as exporta\u00e7\u00f5es brasileiras de algod\u00e3o em 850 mil toneladas em 2017\/18, maior volume desde 2011\/12. A Anea, entidade que representa os exportadores, prev\u00ea embarques de 880 mil toneladas em 2017\/18.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
