Levantamento realizado pela Uni\u00e3o para o BioCom\u00e9rcio \u00c9tico (UEBT) com cerca de 25 mil pessoas em cinco pa\u00edses revela que 94% dos entrevistados no Brasil declaram compreender esses termos e, entre estes, 44% efetivamente definem os temas corretamente.<\/p>\n<p>O estudo, batizado de <strong>Bar\u00f4meto da Biodiversidad<\/strong>e 2010, foi alvo de debates na confer\u00eancia &#8220;Abastecimento com Respeito&#8221; ocorrida esta semana na sede da Natura, em Cajamar (SP).<\/p>\n<p>A diferen\u00e7a de conhecimento desses conceitos entre os pa\u00edses \u00e9 t\u00e3o brutal que chegou a surpreender os pr\u00f3prios pesquisadores, que n\u00e3o acreditavam que o \u00edndice pudesse atingir patamar t\u00e3o elevado no Brasil. Se por aqui a taxa atinge 94%, na Europa e nos Estados Unidos chega a 56%. Entre aqueles que dizem conhecer os assuntos e os definiram de forma acertada, o \u00edndice atinge 18% nos EUA, 16% na Alemanha e 19% na Inglaterra. A Fran\u00e7a tem a taxa mais alta, 27% &#8211; ainda inferior, no entanto, ao verificado no Brasil (44%).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Pode parecer surpreendente, mas esta taxa mais alta \u00e9 facilmente compreens\u00edvel. O Brasil tem sido o palco, desde a Eco 92, de um n\u00famero de eventos e confer\u00eancias de peso mundial, e isso atrai a aten\u00e7\u00e3o do p\u00fablico&#8221;, diz Rik Kutsch Lojenga, diretor-executivo da UEBT.<\/p>\n<p>Membro desse \u00f3rg\u00e3o internacional e envolvida na divulga\u00e7\u00e3o da pesquisa, a Natura concorda com a avalia\u00e7\u00e3o da UEBT. &#8220;A quest\u00e3o da biopirataria, por exemplo, \u00e9 um assunto recorrente no Brasil, at\u00e9 porque envolve quest\u00f5es sens\u00edveis a n\u00f3s, como a explora\u00e7\u00e3o irregular da Floresta Amaz\u00f4nica&#8221;, afirma Marcos Vaz, diretor de sustentabilidade da Natura. &#8220;L\u00e1 fora, esse mesmo entendimento cresce mais entre temas ligados a &#8220;fair trade&#8221; (com\u00e9rcio justo, considerando crit\u00e9rios socioecon\u00f4micos e ambientais)&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Entre os 11 temas relacionados na pesquisa, para defini\u00e7\u00e3o por parte dos entrevistados, aquele que registrou maior discrep\u00e2ncia foi a &#8220;conserva\u00e7\u00e3o da biodiversidade&#8221; &#8211; que se refere a toda a\u00e7\u00e3o que leve \u00e0 prote\u00e7\u00e3o da riqueza e da variedade do mundo natural. Entre os brasileiros, 93% afirmam compreender o assunto, enquanto entre os americanos e europeus, o \u00edndice \u00e9 quase a metade deste (48%).<\/p>\n<p>No caso do tema &#8220;com\u00e9rcio justo&#8221;, como citou o executivo da Natura, a rela\u00e7\u00e3o muda um pouco: 94% dos estrangeiros dizem entender o que o assunto significa, contra 79% dos brasileiros.<\/p>\n<p>A pesquisa foi coordenada pela consultoria Ipsos em todos os pa\u00edses avaliados e foi feita por meio de entrevistas pela internet.
