A Ernst & Young Auditores Independentes tamb\u00e9m n\u00e3o passou no crivo do regulador americano de contabilidade.<\/em><\/strong>

O Conselho de Supervis\u00e3o de Contabilidade de Companhias Abertas (PCAOB , na sigla em ingl\u00eas) divulgou na segunda-feira mais uma lista de inspe\u00e7\u00f5es feitas em firmas de auditoria que atuam fora dos Estados Unidos, que <\/span>incluiu a opera\u00e7\u00e3o brasileira da E&Y, uma das chamadas “quatro grandes” do mercado global de contabilidade.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Anteriormente, o \u00f3rg\u00e3o divulgou relat\u00f3rios sobre a Deloitte e a BDO no Brasil, com ressalvas. <\/span><\/p>\n

No caso da E&Y, a equipe da PCAOB informa ter identificado “o que considerou ser defici\u00eancias de auditoria”. Esses problemas foram encontrados em dois de tr\u00eas trabalhos examinados e, pela relev\u00e2ncia, os investigadores conclu\u00edram que os auditores da E&Y “n\u00e3o obtiveram comprova\u00e7\u00e3o suficiente para dar base \u00e0s suas opini\u00f5es sobre as demonstra\u00e7\u00f5es financeiras” dos clientes.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Os nomes das empresas n\u00e3o foram divulgados.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Os itens destacados pelo PCAOB est\u00e3o relacionados com contratos fechados pelas empresas para proteger os balan\u00e7os de varia\u00e7\u00f5es cambiais e de taxas de juros. Num deles, o \u00f3rg\u00e3o afirma que os procedimentos de auditoria n\u00e3o foram suficientes para avaliar a opera\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

<\/span>A conclus\u00e3o \u00e9 contestada pela E&Y. “A auditoria \u00e9 feita por amostra, com base no risco e na relev\u00e2ncia”, diz Id\u00e9sio Coelho, diretor de auditoria da E&Y. Ele exemplifica: se a empresa tem 100 contratos de hedge, o auditor examina 10, por exemplo. “A equipe do PCAOB achou que deveriam ter sido feios mais testes. Refizemos, e a conclus\u00e3o n\u00e3o mudou.” A empresa, no caso, tinha despesas em d\u00f3lar, e fez o contrato para proteger seu fluxo de caixa. Segundo ele, a poss\u00edvel defici\u00eancia j\u00e1 havia sido identificada pela revis\u00e3o interna da firma.<\/p>\n

<\/span>A auditoria examina esses contratos de prote\u00e7\u00e3o cambial para saber se s\u00e3o “efetivos”, ou seja, se protegem de fato o caixa da empresa. Isso \u00e9 importante para determinar como as opera\u00e7\u00f5es ser\u00e3o registradas no balan\u00e7o. Se forem efetivas, s\u00e3o “marcadas na curva”, pela taxa m\u00e9dia. Caso contr\u00e1rio, ser\u00e3o registradas pelo valor de mercado, o que pode representar uma varia\u00e7\u00e3o brusca nos n\u00fameros divulgados.<\/p>\n

<\/span>O outro ponto refere-se a um empr\u00e9stimo em d\u00f3lar com taxa de juros flutuante. A empresa trocou, no hedge, a moeda para reais, a uma taxa fixa.<\/p>\n

<\/span>“Nos dois casos n\u00e3o houve mudan\u00e7a no resultado, no patrim\u00f4nio, nem no parecer”, diz Coelho. “Foram interven\u00e7\u00f5es pontuais.”<\/p>\n

<\/span>A inspe\u00e7\u00e3o do PCAOB na E&Y foi feita no fim de 2006. Segundo Coelho, foram quatro semanas, divididas entre uma avalia\u00e7\u00e3o interna da firma – pol\u00edtica de avalia\u00e7\u00e3o de s\u00f3cios, relacionamentos de neg\u00f3cios, revis\u00e3o de qualidade etc. – e o acompanhamento dos trabalhos nos clientes.<\/p>\n

<\/span>“Em algumas ocasi\u00f5es, a equipe do PCAOB gastou mais tempo na revis\u00e3o do que os auditores no trabalho original”, diz. <\/span><\/p>\n

O \u00f3rg\u00e3o privado americano, criado pela Lei Sarbanes-Oxley, de 2002, depois dos esc\u00e2ndalos empresariais do in\u00edcio da d\u00e9cada, examina todas as firmas de auditoria cujos clientes tenham pap\u00e9is negociados no mercado americano. <\/span><\/p>\n

De 2005 at\u00e9 junho deste ano, o PCAOB fez inspe\u00e7\u00f5es em 34 pa\u00edses. Partes do relat\u00f3rio, especialmente a que se refere \u00e0s cr\u00edticas ao sistema de controle de qualidade, s\u00e3o mantidas em sigilo, a n\u00e3o ser que a firma n\u00e3o consiga reparar os erros encontrados.<\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
