\tInstituto Nacional de Matemática Pura e Aplicada (Impa) criará modelos matemáticos para identificar possíveis irregularidades em contas da União<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n

\tDiante da gigantesca quantidade de contas públicas para serem analisadas por uma equipe pequena, o Tribunal de Contas da União (TCU) pediu ajuda a um grupo de matemáticos para encontrar uma forma mais rápida e eficaz de realizar esse processo. O tribunal firmou nesta quarta-feira um acordo de cooperação com o Instituto Nacional de Matemática Pura e Aplicada (Impa). O objetivo é desenvolver operações matemáticas que identifiquem contas com indícios de irregularidades – e necessitem, portanto, de investigação.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\tO diretor-geral do Instituto, César Camacho, selecionou um grupo de estudiosos das mais diversas áreas da matemática para auxiliar os auditores. Juntos, eles desenvolverão uma operação capaz de agilizar o processo. "Nossa contribuição será no sentido de desenvolver modelos matemáticos destinados a identificar determinados padrões em bancos de dados utilizados pelo TCU em seus processos de auditoria. A análise destes padrões pode sugerir a necessidade, em alguns casos, de uma investigação mais aprofundada", explica.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\t\tAs conversas começaram quando Camacho foi procurado pelo presidente TCU, Aroldo Cedraz. "Montei um grupo de matemáticos para cooperar com os auditores. Agora, com o pacto firmado, eles poderão trabalhar juntos e criar o melhor método para suprir essa necessidade", afirma o diretor do Impa. A assinatura do acordo ocorreu na sede do tribunal e contou com a presença do ministro da Ciência e Tecnologia, Aldo Rebelo.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
