Ser\u00e1 apenas a partir de 1773, e decorrente de uma legisla\u00e7\u00e3o espec\u00edfica, que o m\u00e9todo das partidas dobradas se aplica \u00e0 organiza\u00e7\u00e3o que produzia moeda no reino. A introdu\u00e7\u00e3o deste m\u00e9todo contabil\u00edstico ter\u00e1 sido ligeiramente anterior em institui\u00e7\u00f5es r\u00e9gias existentes no Brasil. A Capitania da Bahia introduziu as normas da contabilidade p\u00fablica em 1765, enquanto na Capitania do Rio de Janeiro e na Tesouraria Geral da mesma cidade, o m\u00e9todo ter\u00e1 sido implementado a partir de 1 de Janeiro de 1768.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i>Assim, apesar de 1761 marcar a aplica\u00e7\u00e3o do m\u00e9todo mercantil \u00e0 esfera p\u00fablica atrav\u00e9s da sua introdu\u00e7\u00e3o no Er\u00e1rio R\u00e9gio, a simultaneidade na sua utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o ocorreu. Apenas o estudo de outras institui\u00e7\u00f5es p\u00fablicas portuguesas permitir\u00e1 periodizar e confrontar de modo mais alargado as diversas pr\u00e1ticas contabil\u00edsticas.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Apesar do m\u00e9todo &#8220;mercantil&#8221;, leia-se partidas dobradas, ter aparecido em torno de 1300, somente mais de quatrocentos anos depois \u00e9 que Portugal, e suas col\u00f4nicas, passam a utilizar a t\u00e9cnica. O texto comenta sobre o uso no Er\u00e1rio. H\u00e1 aqui uma cita\u00e7\u00e3o de que o m\u00e9todo j\u00e1 era adotado no Brasil, na contabilidade p\u00fablica. E a cita\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>Instroc\u00e7\u00f5es para a escriptura\u00e7\u00e3o dos livros de Thezouraria desta Capitania. Methodo que se deve seguir na excriptura\u00e7\u00e3o das contas da Fazenda Real desta Capitania do Rio de Janeiro, e na arrecada\u00e7\u00e3o da Thezouraria Geral estabelecida na mesma cidade do Rio de Janeiro, 1767, c\u00f3dice 10 632.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Veja que se trata de uma norma, mas h\u00e1 uma diferen\u00e7a entre uma norma e seu uso.
