Esta &eacute; uma pergunta que fa&ccedil;o constantemente. Toma muito tempo e parece uma atividade pouco reconhecida. Uma pesquisa realizada por dois estudiosos do Banco Mundial, David McKenzie e Berk &Ouml;zler, analisa a influencia dos blogs na &aacute;rea de economia. Talvez ajude a entender melhor porque blogar.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p> \t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"> \t<span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Usando uma s&eacute;rie de experimentos, os autores mostram que existem tr&ecirc;s efeitos. Em primeiro lugar, o blog aumenta o n&uacute;mero de visitas e downloads em artigos cient&iacute;ficos. Segundo, blogar aumenta a reputa&ccedil;&atilde;o do autor (e da sua institui&ccedil;&atilde;o) em rela&ccedil;&atilde;o aos autores similares. Terceiro alguns dos t&oacute;picos na &aacute;rea de economia podem sofrer influencia dos blogs.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p> \t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"> \t<span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Vamos por etapas. Em primeiro lugar, os efeitos do blog na leitura de textos acad&ecirc;micos. A figura mostra o n&uacute;mero de downloads de um artigo publicado desde sua publica&ccedil;&atilde;o, em 2006, at&eacute; maio de 2011. Em 2008 o texto foi citado no blog Freakonomics e o n&uacute;mero de visualiza&ccedil;&otilde;es do resumo e de downloads por m&ecirc;s saltou de menos de vinte para mais de 140.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p> \t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"> \t<span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">Diversos outros textos s&atilde;o citados no artigo, mostrando que a lembran&ccedil;a de um artigo cient&iacute;fico por parte de um blog famoso tende a aumentar o n&uacute;mero de pessoas que leem o texto.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p> \t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"> \t<span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">O outro aspecto refere-se a reputa&ccedil;&atilde;o do autor. Na &aacute;rea de economia a atividade de blogar est&aacute; associada, por exemplo, com o prest&iacute;gio do economista. O texto mostra que os economistas blogueiros s&atilde;o vistos como &ldquo;economistas favoritos&rdquo;. Os autores fizeram experimentos, inclusive criando um blog (Development Impact), mas gostaria de citar uma observa&ccedil;&atilde;o feita por <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.worldbank.org\/impactevaluations\/working-paper-the-impact-of-economics-blogs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><font color=\"#5588aa\">David Albrecht<\/font><\/a>: ele tem postado textos h&aacute; tr&ecirc;s anos sobre contabilidade financeira e auditoria e apesar de n&atilde;o ter publicado muito artigos em peri&oacute;dicos acad&ecirc;micos, em setembro foi considerado uma das pessoas mais influentes em contabilidade.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p> \t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"> \t<span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif\">O terceiro t&oacute;pico &eacute; sobre a import&acirc;ncia que o blog pode exercer na pol&iacute;tica econ&ocirc;mica. Neste caso, a conclus&atilde;o dos autores &eacute; que a influencia direta &eacute; rara. Mas a pesquisa mostrou que o blog pode levantar um assunto que ser&aacute; mais tarde explorado pela grande imprensa.
