A recomenda&ccedil;&atilde;o foi feita na quinta-feira por grupos de investidores &agrave; principal ag&ecirc;ncia reguladora do setor nos Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n<p> \t\tA opini&atilde;o de auditoria padr&atilde;o, de tr&ecirc;s par&aacute;grafos, anexada aos balan&ccedil;os financeiros, permanece basicamente inalterada h&aacute; d&eacute;cadas e deveria ser reformada, disseram os investidores.<\/em><\/p>\n<p> \t\t<i>&quot;A moral da hist&oacute;ria &eacute; que os investidores querem mais informa&ccedil;&otilde;es dos auditores externos&quot;, disse Ann Yerger, diretora-executiva do Conselho de Investidores Institucionais (CII) em uma mesa-redonda realizada em Washington.<\/i><\/p>\n<p> \t\t<i>As auditorias de companhias de capital aberto &agrave;s vezes consomem milhares de horas e podem custar mais de US$ 100 milh&otilde;es, mas o m&aacute;ximo que os investidores no geral veem s&atilde;o uns poucos par&aacute;grafos em linguajar padr&atilde;o, disse ela.<\/i><\/p>\n<p> \t\t<i>O Conselho de Supervis&atilde;o de Contabilidade de Companhias Abertas (PCAOB), o principal org&atilde;o regulador dos auditores nos EUA, est&aacute; considerando mudan&ccedil;as nos relat&oacute;rios, como acrescentar um &quot;relat&oacute;rio do auditor&quot; (uma esp&eacute;cie de contraparte do &quot;relat&oacute;rio da administra&ccedil;&atilde;o&quot;) com detalhes sobre como a auditoria foi feita e o que acharam das pol&iacute;ticas cont&aacute;beis da empresa.<\/i><\/p>\n<p> \t\t<i>&quot;Os investidores querem um pouco mais de nuance sobre o que os auditores est&atilde;o vendo&quot;, como os julgamentos feitos pela administra&ccedil;&atilde;o na proposta de n&uacute;meros financeiros ou uma discuss&atilde;o sobre transa&ccedil;&otilde;es incomuns, disse Yerger. Os auditores j&aacute; fornecem algumas informa&ccedil;&otilde;es aos comit&ecirc;s de auditoria das companhias, de modo que n&atilde;o dever&aacute; haver um aumento significativo nos custos, disse ela.<\/i><\/p>\n<p> \t\t<i>Os auditores &quot;n&atilde;o se op&otilde;em de maneira nenhuma a uma mudan&ccedil;a significativa&quot; nos pareceres, disse Robert Kueppers, vice-presidente da Deloitte. No entanto, a administra&ccedil;&atilde;o e n&atilde;o os auditores &eacute; que deve fornecer informa&ccedil;&otilde;es sobre a companhia, disse. &quot;Se nos tornarmos a fonte original de divulga&ccedil;&atilde;o sobre o emissor, isso no fundo mudaria a nossa fun&ccedil;&atilde;o.&quot;<\/i><\/p>\n<p> \t\t<i>Os atuais pareceres de auditoria dizem aos investidores se as demonstra&ccedil;&otilde;es financeiras representam com fidelidade a condi&ccedil;&atilde;o financeira de uma companhia e se ela segue os princ&iacute;pios cont&aacute;beis amplamente aceitos.<\/i><\/p>\n<p> \t\t<i>Em uma pesquisa apresentada em uma reuni&atilde;o de um grupo de consultoria a investidores do PCAOB, realizada neste ano, quase uma em cada cinco pessoas que participaram disse que o parecer padr&atilde;o n&atilde;o tem utilidade.<\/i><\/p>\n<p> \t\t<i>Lynn Turner, ex-contador-chefe da Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), disse que os auditores tinham uma percep&ccedil;&atilde;o sobre os riscos representados por companhias que quebraram, como AIG, Lehman Brothers e Adelphia, que poderia ter ajudado a evitar perdas maiores aos investidores. &quot;&Eacute; por isso que as pessoas est&atilde;o pedindo essa informa&ccedil;&atilde;o&quot;, disse Turner. &quot;Os auditores tinham conhecimento de informa&ccedil;&otilde;es significativas que eram muito importantes.&quot;<\/i><\/p>\n<p> \t\t<i>Alguns participantes da mesa-redonda disseram que os auditores deveriam simplesmente compartilhar informa&ccedil;&otilde;es obtidas nas auditorias, como incertezas sobre impostos, reservas para perdas com empr&eacute;stimos ou julgamentos que os administradores fazem sobre o valor justo dos ativos.<\/i><\/p>\n<p> \t\t<i>Entretanto, Gary Kabureck, diretor de contabilidade da Xerox , afirmou que esses coment&aacute;rios do auditor &quot;n&atilde;o ser&atilde;o gratuitos nem baratos&quot;. Elaborar relat&oacute;rios externos desse tipo &quot;tende a exigir muito tempo&quot;, disse ele.<\/i><\/p>\n<p> \t\t<i>O PCAOB est&aacute; recebendo coment&aacute;rios sobre a quest&atilde;o at&eacute; o fim do m&ecirc;s.
